25% of 56 is 14, but can someone explain and show work I am really confused xD Please and Thanks

Sagot :

To work out a number after using a percentage on it, you divide the starting number by 100 to find out 1% of it, then multiply it by the percentage you want to find out (in this case 25%), to get the new number
(56/100)*25 = 14
Ok so 25% of something is a fourth, and if you have a fourth of something you multiply it by four to get the whole so, if 14 is 25% then 56=100%. Because 14*4=56 Sorry if thats confusing
