Measurement of Angles
4. (a) If 3x°, 5x°, and 2x° are angles of a triangle, find the each angle in degree.

Sagot :

The angles are: 54°, 90° and 36° respectively.

Work

We are given the angles as measurements of x.

All the angles in a triangle have to add up to 180°

So, we can add all the angles in terms of x and set it equal to 180°.

It becomes:

3x° + 5x° + 2x° = 180°

10x° = 180°

Solve for x.

x = 180°/10°

x = 18

Now, substitute the value in to obtain the angles.

3x° = 3(18)° = 54°

5x° = 5(18)° = 90°

2x° = 2(18)° = 36°

54° + 90° + 36° = 180°
