10. Police are
searching for a driver who fled from a car after a chase by several officers
Tuesday night. At 9:21 p.m., Officer James Logan attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding
on
Grosvenor Drive. According to Officer Logan, the driver failed to yield and sped off,
heading south
on Grosvenor, then turning east onto Eldridge Avenue. After nearly
causing a
collision
with another car at the intersection of Scranton Street, he turned north onto
Huddleston
Pike and
appeared
to be heading for the freeway. He managed to elude
the
pursuing officers
for
only a
short time
,
however
,
as he lost control of the car when he
tried
to cut through a parking lot and one
of the tires blew out after jumping the curb. The driver
fled the scene on foot and has not yet been caught, but he has been identified
, according to
the report. It was soon discovered that the vehicle had been stolen at
approximately 9:15
p.m.
