### Introduction Discussion

Instructions:

1. Initial Post:
- Share with your group something that you know and feel proud of. This can be an academic skill, a language, a sport, or a life skill.
- Answer the following questions:
- How did you learn it?
- Why is it something you care about?
- Was it difficult to learn?
- What did the person/people who taught it to you do to inspire you or make it achievable?

2. Replies:
- Once you have posted, find at least two classmates and comment on their posts.
- Consider these points for your comments:
- Do they know something you wish you did?
- Have they figured out how to learn something that has eluded you so far?
- Do you share a passion for something they mentioned?
- Comment on someone who has learned something you find really challenging.
- Ask a second classmate for tips on how to learn a skill you want to learn in the next year or two.

3. Deadlines:
- Post your initial comment by Wednesday.
- Post your replies by Friday.

Note:
- To get full credit, it is important to follow the directions and complete the assignment on time.
- If your group ensures every member has a reply, I will give everyone in the group an extra point on the discussion.
- If you are unfamiliar with the Canvas discussion format, refer to the attached how-to video. (The first minute or so may not pertain to our setup, but the rest is helpful.)

Remember:
- You need to first reply before you can see the rest of the discussion, and this will be true for all our discussions.
