The escalating social inequality in the United States has shaken the foundation for the realization of the American Dream. From a personal perspective, the connotation of the "American Dream" is that individuals achieve success through their own struggles; From a social perspective, the foundation of the American Dream is equal opportunities and high social mobility, where everyone has the opportunity to change their own destiny. However, in recent decades, especially since the 21st century, the exacerbation of social inequality in the United States has become an undeniable fact. This inequality includes both economic and political inequality, as well as social inequality, especially inequality between different ethnic groups. At present, the wealth owned by the top 10% of households in the United States accounts for over 75% of all household wealth in the country, while the wealth owned by the bottom 50% of households accounts for only 1%; African Americans have only 1/12 of the wealth of white people, while Latinos have 1/11. In today's American society, class rigidity is becoming increasingly severe, social mobility continues to decline, and ordinary people find it increasingly difficult to change their destiny through their own efforts.
