Asch tried his classic conformity study in a few different ways to understand what makes people more or less likely to conform. In one version of the study, he had one of his fake participants give the true answer, while all of the others gave the incorrect answer. He found that when just one other person provided the correct answer, the real participant was more likely to provide the correct answer, as well. These results suggest:

a. Group pressure to conform is uniform and universal
b. Group pressure to conform has only minimal effects on behavior
c. It is not possible to resist conformity pressure
d. It becomes easier to resist conformity pressure once unanimity of the group is broken
