The objectives of Canada's Immunization Programs are to:

1. Prevent, control, eliminate, or eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases by directly protecting vaccine recipients and indirectly protecting vulnerable individuals who may not respond to vaccines or for whom vaccines may be contraindicated.
2. Help people avoid going to the doctor.
3. Lower health insurance premiums.
4. Allow Canadians to receive benefits from their workplace.
