Matt and Christoph are certified public accountants working for Counter and Bean CPAs, a firm with twenty-five CPAs. Matt and Chris decide they wish to leave Counter and Bean to start their own firm. While still employed, they write down the names, physical addresses, and e-mail addresses of those clients they have done work for during their time at Counter and Bean; they do not copy information regarding other clients of the firm. After leaving Counter and Bean, they establish their own office. Matt and Christoph then send a letter or an email to each of their clients simply informing their old clients that they have started their own CPA firm.
Have Matt and Christoff violated the intellectual property interests of Counter and Bean? Why or Why not?
