What new direction did civil rights leaders take in the mid-1960s?

Sagot :

I believe that some of  the actions that  were taken by civil rights leaders was in general a non-violent approach however some started taking a militant approach because the demonstrations had not really helped them get their voice out to the public.  Some did peaceful demonstrations such as sit ins. Where they would go into restaurants  and sit quietly while dressed professionally.  There was a lot of violence during the 1960s. Hopefully this helps.
