difference between epidermis and cork?

Cork:1. The cork is a water proof protective layer (bark) present on the cork trees. It consist of dead cells. 2. Impermeable in nature.

epidermis is the outer skin of plant till  its stem is delicate and the outer portion is living.it is made up of living cells.
