I need to find the perimeter and area of the rectangle: the length is 4 in and the width is (2x - 4) in.

Sagot :

AL2006
Area= (length) x (width) = (4)  (2x - 4) = 8x - 16

Perimeter = (2 lengths) + (2 widths) = (8) + (4x - 8) = 4x
A = BL
P = 2(B + L)

A = area
P = perimeter
B = width
L = length

A = 4(2x - 4)
P = 2(4 + (2x - 4))

Need some other bit of information to solve, like a relationship between area and perimeter . . but i can't solve for x, A, or P . . when i can only develop two equations with the given problem information . . so . .that's all :)
