What's an exponent you may be asking, an exponent is that little number on the top left of a base number (aka the normal sized number there), what an exponent does it make that base number multiply by itself how many ever times it says. So for example, lets say our base number is 3 and our exponent is 4, we would have to multiply 3 by 3 4 times, like this: 3 x 3 x 3 x 3.
The expanded form is what I just did before, it just shows what the exponent is doing, like the 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 thing, that is the expanded form of 3⁴.
And lastly the standard form is just what we usually see it as, like the standard form for 3⁴ would be 81. I like to think of it as the answer to what ever that exponential form's expanded form is, the answer to 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 81.
