How do you solve multi step equations (ik how to do) but with the variables and doing distributive property? I know to start you distribute parenthesis but after that I kinda get lost. Explain it by using an example equation and go deep into explanation and you will totally get brainiest!!

Answer:

Let's say we have this equation, for example⤵⤵⤵:

[tex]12 - 6(x + 10) = 60[/tex]

You obviously know that first you must distribute -6 amongst everything inside the parenthesis, and that will give you -6x - 60. Then you'd rewrite the equation with this in mind, to get

12 - 6x - 60 = 60

Next, you need to combine the like terms, in this case 12 and -60, to get -48. Now you have

-6x - 48 = 60

Afterwards, you'd do the opposite of -48 and add it on both sides of the equal sign. Now you'll have -6x = 108

Finally, you'd divide -6 on both sides, in order to get x by itself, to get x = -18

Hopefully, this example/explanation helps you understand the concept better :)
